The Ebay administration is dominated by incompetence. Their inability to provide sellers with the respect they deserve is extraordinarily insulting; it is clearly evident to anyone who has attempted to contact their 'customer service,' and miraculously succeeded, that these people are devoid of any interest in assisting you with your issue at hand. To most consumers on Ebay, who have no experience selling, Ebay is an acceptable site, successful in facilitating the process of finding the best deals. On the other hand, sellers are sucked dry by their parasitical fees posed by the mosquitoes we call the Ebay administration. Their greed dwarfs and impairs their ability to properly serve their deserving sellers. Many are countless cases of good sellers neglected and suspended for no apparent reason, other than the ineptitude of the Ebay administration.
Their customer service sucks! It's centered out of the Philipines and they promise you stuff and they never deliver. Happened 5 times over a stupid credit. You will never get an American agent on the phone. (at least they deliver on their word) All the Philipinos at the center are dishonest and liars. You should never use ebay for this company never ever uses American labor for one and will never use email for customer care. There is something very dishonest and fishy about ebay.
There is no humanity. Corporations now rule the world. Ebay will happily allow a complete stranger to rob you & hold your money for weeks with no comeback & no help whatsoever. It is run by robots with no human compassion whatsoever. they pay very little UK corporate tax & their staff will follow the rules to the letter regardless of whether tha helps you or the criminal abusing the system. They are robots only interested in profits - of which they make an enormous amount & live in a grey hinterland of self righteousness devoid of ethics or human care & interest. DO NOT trust ebay or paypal. They are rubbish & very expensive for an indifferent & poor service. Profiteers from the poor, unethical to the last man.
eBay wont let me sell on there site for a strange website but it says i can on the selling page and when the listing is ready it says it cannot be published due to restrictions ebay wont tell me what the restriction is.
My recent auction ended with a buyer selecting the Buy It Now option, however, it seems the buyers account had been hacked and quite understandably Ebay cancelled the listing, returned my fees and confirmed the buyers account had been re-secured. So my option was to relist, however, when relisting I noted the amount of the cancelled listing still counts against my monthly total sales allowance, On contacting Ebay they confirm this is indeed their practice - and told me to apply for a higher allowance - but why should I, Ebay cancelled the listing and zeroed everything but my sales limit.
Ebay protect buyers, even the scammers but are completely unsympathetic to cheated sellers - If there going to end a listing and zero the fees then they should do a complete job - its only a matter of telling the software how to do it.
The Buy it Now option should not automatically end a sale - it should suspend it with a banner indicating "Under Offer from Buy It Now", The seller should have the option to confirm payment received - via paypal and that action should end the auction, A non payment or for another reason the seller should be able to refuse the BIN offer and restore the auction to where it was prior to the BIN.
Hey presto - 2 days after this review my sales balance has been zeroed - coincidence? Now I wonder if I was told wrongly by the ebay help line or this review has made them see sense. Ebay - Im just waiting for the day when we have a competitor for selling, I do use Amazon for most purchases but im not particularly happy with you - and you are very expensive - the feedback protocols are anti sellers too.
I've bought a couple of items recently that have been lost in transit. The process for alerting ebay and the seller to this fact and the company's approach to sorting out these issues (it wasn't a dispute, just lost items) is efficient and I found the whole experience very easy. Thank you Ebay.
Ebay just doesn't care about its customers. It is geared up for handing disputes between buyers and sellers but when ebay gets it wrong you might as well talk to the wall.
Just remember, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. I'm giving up on ebay because they keep ignoring me.
I bought a jacket on eBay a few months ago, but suddenly the seller has deleted himself, after I paid (of course), and I did not recieve the jacket. I contacted eBay to get my money back as they promise you, and they adviced me to contact the seller (which I couldn't do, since he was no longer on eBay) and it is not possible for me to start a case, since the webside keep saying that there is some kind of mistake on the page, when I try. I have mailed them again to get my money, but now they stopped answering me. This is simply an illegal practice - they cannot promise you your money back, and then ignore you, when your purchase doesn't arrive. I will never ever buy anything through eBay again, and will strongly reccommend everyone to stay far away from them, if you do not want to throw your money out of the window.

Buyers can change their mind and if you dispute if buyers win you will not get your listing fees even if the items were not faulty.

I've used e-bay for 7-8 years now and have not found many problems with the service, they are getting more expensive but still reasonable when compared to Amazon market place and the like. In all my transactions on e-bay I have yet to write a negative review knowing full well the impact negative reviews have on my and others consideration of a seller, I would not wish to damage a business just because something went a little wrong. However, reviews are there for a purpose and I believed a negative review would be maintained. This is NOT the case. I recently had what I can only describe as my worst buying experience ever. The company were aggressive, declaring false CE safety documentation and threatened legal action should I state such a statement on any site. I believe in freedom of speech, as such I wrote my first negative review in over 250 transactions only to see e-bay take it off without even contacting me to tell me that was what they were doing. Apparently as the seller has made more than a 1000 sales in the month they have the right to remove five negative reviews as they choose!! What is the point, I know the company are passing off incorrectly described goods, I state as much, and they just laugh and remove it. It has completely changed my faith in the review system, completely devalued it, what a joke the system turns out to be.

How many of you out there dont realise that since September 4th E bay now take 10% of the postage fee from sellers.Their main aim is to get sellers to offer FREE postage on their items,but its the buyer that will pay the extra as we all know that there is nothing as free.All the seller does is increase the price of their item to cover the costs.Be very aware of this extra cost if you intend selling anything on E bay on the run up to christmas.

It was undeliverable and returned to the seller.
Astoundingly, eBay resolution center refused me a refund claiming I failed to provide a valid shipping address.
My address is correct on both my eBay and paypal accounts.
It has been the same address since I opened the accounts.
The address was provided to the seller through both eBay and paypal.
What failed was eBay’s buyer protection plan and some morons ability to write an address on a box.
The seller got his item back and got to keep my money.
I got nothing.
Needless to say, I have closed my ebay and paypal accounts.
They are not trustworthy. Amazon has never screwed me!

You are forced to use paypal so they get double fees from you.
The list goes on. It's just a marketplace for garbage, run by people who are just out to make money with no customer service at all.

Ik heb toen e-bay.nl gemaild. Men antwoordde, dat de verkoper volkomen terecht gehandeld had, dat ik mijn Engels moest verbeteren en dat ik uit moest kijken als ik iets kocht. Op mijn verzonden mail, dat zulks toch niet in de haak was, kreeg ik geen antwoord meer.

Ebay has gone down, they don't value customers any more. They are now letting sellers to sell defective items and they don't even let buyers to write a review. The customer service is also very poor. Don't buy from ebay if you want to waste your money. Amazon is much better.

I have been using Ebay for years, it has always provided a usefull platform for buying an selling lower end items. In the last year it has become a nightmare! The dreggs of the trading world seem to all come to Ebay. I have been threatened by buyers and selling alike( you may say post a complaint with Ebay, but they dont do anything to help), people dont show up or want to buy something for one buck and expect you to be home on sunday. Some of you will probably say that this is what Ebay is about. Well it wasnt a year ago! It just gets worse. I have had so much success with good old fashioned classified ads in the local paper (and most have a free under $50 section). Yes, you have to pay up front, but the quality of customer is so much better, that I dont mind, buying or selling. Ebay has become an international 'Gypsy' market, with gypsy type clients. I dont think it will last much longer to be honest.
I am refusing to pay for an item, once I realised it was not an Apple product as advertised but a generic product that could be used FOR apple products.
I contacted the seller twice - no reply.
I contacted Ebay and pointed it out it broke Ebay's rules on Keyword Spamming, Inaccurate Advertising.
Their customer solution? I should ask the fraudulent seller for their phone number call them in person, and ask them to kindly to cancel my purchase.

The management of the site is appalling with very little emphasis or any regard for customers... The sooner someone comes up with a new site that gives ebay a run for it's money the better.

Recently purchased a jewelry magnifier that I didnt receive since USPS lost it!. for some reason the package showed delivered. I checked in the main office, with my folks and in my mail. USPS probably delivered it to the wrong address as it wasnt a signature required package. Seller antiquechina2009 was rude about it and asked for 2.5 dollar to reship. I paid 1.99 before and the product was for $2.75. I know its like $5 down the drain but when i left him a bad review EBAY deletes it. He was being rude! I required it so I had to but it again from some one else. I have worked in customer service and people didnt receive $100 worth products! we start an inquiry and resend products. What happened to the customer is alway right???
I am a buyer. Advice: Only buy on ebay if you are willing to envision losing the entire value of your purchase, plus shipping.
I purchased, after noting the "Buyer protection" promises and checking the seller feedback carefully. I did not receive my item and I have not received it to date. Unfortunately, the seller failed to exercise due diligence in shipping, "signature required" or similar.
If you do not receive your item, you are no longer able to contact the seller directly. You must go through ebay's so-called "Resolution Center." I did so. After many hysterical (and misspelled) responses from the seller, who supplied the "tracking information" (no signature required !) that is both automatic and useless with generic priority mail, I informed them that I would request a refund as I had not received the item. To protect themselves, they immediately "escalated" the case, preempting my "refund" request. Given the incredible unprofessionalism, it astonishes me that this person actually has a real store. I then learned the hard way that if a seller uses generic priority mail, ebay automatically assumes delivery, decides in the favor of the seller, and the buyer is out all costs. What a scam.
Regarding "feedback." I see the comments telling people to check "feedback." Right. Be advised that once you open an inquiry in the "Resolution Center," you will not be permitted to leave feedback, in my case indicating that the seller had been negligent by failing to require a signature even on a package of that value. This is "policy," as ebay informed me when they removed my even-handed but honest feedback. Feedback is therefore carefully engineered and of very little real value. How many other buyers have suffered from the negligence of this seller ? I would never have purchased from them had I known this.

I recently bought a used Apple iMac desktop computer as relying on any of the latest high-end iMac models for sale on the Apple shop would have been over-kill for the purposes for which I intended to use the product.
The seller offered a £20 postage fee whereby he would dispatch the order by Parcel Force 48 (a 2 day dispatch service) 1 day after cleared payment. I won the item on the 27th of July and paid for it on the same day so my anticipation was that the item would be dispatched on the 29th of July. How wrong was I??!!
After contacting the seller several times via email and after he completely ignored my eBay dispute case that I opened against him in the eBay resolution centre, I decided to phone him on the 10th of August asking where on earth the item was to which he replied it is "NO LONGER AVAILABLE" and that he would refund me on the 11th of August.
It is now the 12th of August, he has not been in-touch and no refund has been given.
My question is this: if he knew it was no longer available why didn't he un-wield his greedy mitts from the money I paid? Why didn't he communicate? There was over 7 day window of opportunity for him to inform me that the iMac had "vanished", or perhaps, hadn't existed at all!! Heck, the picture of the iMac could have been a googled iMac!
eBay is full of distrustful scammers that do not have the customer's best interests at heart!
