The Ford Fiesta we hired was a lovely car with a good driving position, very comfortable considering the long mileage we were doing and with ample space and luggage space for the two of us. We both really enjoyed driving it.
We had done 2 bookings of Budget car hire while in South Africa and we had a very pleasant experience. First car hire was from Jo'burg to Suncity and back and next one was from PE to Cape Town. Budget was the cheapest option, I could find online and yet the condition of car was superb. Servicing 'A' grade and Drop off AAA+. It was just handing over keys at the Airport and move away to catch the flight. Couldn't have been better. Do always hire a GPS which is a must at a little additional cost. You will never have problems to locate places.
Easy n--fuss pick-up in downtown Melbourne, a Corolla auto (I liked my UK Corolla manual from the past so chose it for our trip up the Ocean Road to Adelaide). I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the 65km on the clock and the bodywork paint chips that showed it, but it drove like the dream I remembered Corollas drive, and was totally reliable and fault-free over the 1800km we did over 25 days, including a comfortable air-conditioned 1-day 720km return drive from Adelaide back to Melbourne. The return to ACE rentals in Melbourne was similarly no-fuss and easy. I'm a Hertz Gold member but a similar 25-day Hertz hire with perfect paintwork and instant pick-up from exactly the same location would have cost well over over 30% more. These days I much prefer best value for money. ACE Rentals gave me that in spades.
Booked through them for a Hertz hire car. When I told Hertz I wanted to cancel they said it's no problem as they won't charge and contacted Rentalcars.com on my behalf. Rentalcars.com told Hertz that I needed to email them with the reference number and briefly state the reason why I wanted to cancel. I did and was sent an email the next day stating I will be getting no refund due to the cancellation being less than 48hrs before pick up!! So they keep the full payment and both Hertz and I get nothing.
No warning and no details for the extra charges. Now going through the challenge of contesting those charges. If vacation is for relaxation, this certainly doesn't help. Shocking that rentalcars.com is part of Priceline...shame on Priceline. Suggest you avoid rentalcars.com
when I go home to Africa it is nice to explore on my way before I reach my final destination Lesotho, to see the beauty of the landscape travelling through the open country side and visiting places of interest in towns and villages on route I will always use a car instead of public transport.
I would deifinitely use dollar again as it was very easy to locate within the airport, the staff were helpful and efficient without going into major detail. The price was by far the best we had seen and the collection and drop off of the vehicle was unbelievably straightforward. Had no problems whatsover 10/10
La mia prenotazione è stata cancellata ed il pagamento trattenuto per intero perchè a causa di un ritardo del treno mi sono presentato al banco della società di noleggio con 1.04 ore di ritardo rispetto all'ora prevista. Alla mia lamentela scritta mi hanno risposto che dopo 30 minuti la prenotazione scade e la somma trattenuta per intero. Questi termini però non sono assolutamente previsti nei termini e nelle condizioni contrattuali. Semplicemente disonesti ed in malafede.
Friendly staff and eager to please, recommended an upgrade that actually saved me money on the reservation I had made. Fast documentation process with little fuss. Car was easy to find and ready to go. Returning the car was even easier, just roll up, a five minute car check and it was all done and I was off.I travel a lot and will certainly use them again.
