Excellent quality and price

It's always a bit daunting to put your medical needs in the hands of someone you have never met. I have always used a face to face service for my optical needs. This time I wanted to purchase some glasses specifically for computer works and reading, without pay even more to my local opticians (last glasses cost me over $500). Well I am quite impressed. The screens and help provided ensure you give exactly the correct information. The options for lenses and frames were more than adequate.
I now have the glasses and have been using them for over a week and must say that the quality and value is impressive.
Well done. Fast accurate delivery and excellent all round service.

Had a very pleasant experience!

I ordered a pair of Paul Smith sunglasses from Smartbuyglasses. They look so much better in person than in the photos! The process was simple. It was my first time buying online, but I decided to trust the site as it felt more secure than other sites I had visited. Communication was quick and professional, and the price was great.

There seemed to be a bit of a delay in communication, but I didn't think it was nearly as bad as some people previously stated. Aside from that, the sunglasses arrived within a couple weeks of purchase, and all is well!

Never been so disappointed with making an online purchase

I was really excited to find the glasses I wanted online and purchased them on May 27, 2013. Shortly after, I received an email on June 3, 2013 with the subject, "Your SmartBuyGlasses Order (US8651595625G) is On the Way," which really excited me that my glasses would soon arrive.

However, we are now at June 16, 2013 and I have still not received my glasses. I have contacted costumer services multiple times (which alone is cause of disappointment, why can't they offer a phone number? Why does it have to be email only?) first they said they received my glasses in the lab and it will take 2-3 business days to process. Now they are saying it will take 5-14 business days. So which is it?!

Mind you, there website says, "Allow delivery within 5-11 working days when choosing from our full range of over 80,000 designer eyewear styles. If a delay occurs, we will always inform you promptly via email so that you can keep track of your order. Be assured that our customer service team will quickly respond to make your shopping experience as efficient as possible."

I was not notified that there would be a delay in my shipment, WHERE ARE MY GLASSES?? I only hope that I am happy when they arrive, whenever that is....

I have never been more disappointed!

I wish it was possible to give less than one star! Honestly... I have never been more disappointed in a "purchase" than I am with this.

I purchased a pair of glasses on 3/15... it took them nearly a month or me checking my order status before they informed me that the frames I had ordered were discontinued and could I chose a different pair. Side note: I found the exact frames I originally ordered through my clinic's optical department after all of this! I unhappily complied and chose a different pair, I even paid the difference for the new frames.

Like a lot of other reviewers, it took forever for information to be updated on my order. I received an email letting me know that they had finally received my frames and that it would take an additional 2-3 days to process my prescription. It took them 18 days to process my prescription before they FINALLY shipped my glasses.

I finally received my order on May 30... for those of us doing the math that's 11 weeks! But that's not the best part! I opened my much anticipated order just to find that THEY ARE THE WRONG FRAMES! After the entire experience, I was still somehow surprised that they managed to send me the WRONG glasses! I emailed them right away... I mean, I still had the torn open FedEx packaging in my hand... I'm pretty sure the delivery guy was still on my block! And not only did they send the wrong glasses, but the sleeve of the really nice Prada packaging that they were sent in has water damage on it! What in the world... $200 dollar glasses and I get packaging that is water damaged!? I got a response back from them saying they had shipped the frames according to the order so I'd need to send photos of the item i did receive. I of course did expecting to hear back from them with how to proceed.

It has been a week and a half since I sent them photos of the incorrect frames. I have sent follow up emails asking for assistance which have gone ignored. I have submitted a request for refund through their website and have received no response. They won't process a return if you sent them the product back, they have to issue you a return code first... but won't bother to contact to issue it! Their website boasts a 14 day return policy... they don't tell you that it will take at least 14 days for them to get back to you about the return! I half expect to hear from them on day 15 with an apology, they were busy but the policy is the policy!

Worst online purchase experience of my life! Stay away from this company... they are nothing but bad news! If you don't think a couple bad reviews here are anything to worry about... check out their rating and complaints on [exteral link removed] to know that there are plenty of others.

Unfortunately, by the time you placed the order we were not informed that none of our suppliers have this particular style in stock. There was a problem with redeeming my promotional code, thought to myself - great this is going to be a hassle. Not sure yet, still haven't received order

I placed the order on May 19th which has been acknowledged but to date it is now June 10th and I still haven't received my order or any back order notice until I wrote them to get status on my order as of June 6th. I wonder how long I would have waited without any updates if I hadn't called. I also find it a bit disturbing that they don't publish a phone number for their company, just email addresses.

Great Service!

This was my first order with this company. The web site was well set out and easy to navigate. I ordered a pair of sunglasses and awaited delivery. Delivery was fast but sadly the size that arrived was too small. I contacted the customer service to exchange them for a bigger size and although i had to pay for the shipment the new ones arrived within less than one week.
The customer service of this company is second to none. They kept me informed what was happening and responded swiftly to emails. Also got a voucher for money off my next order. I will use them again and would recommend them without reservation. a brilliant company with excellent customer service highly recommended.

Shady, shady company.

Not only will I never again buy from this company, but I hope no one ever buys from this company again. I ordered 3 pairs of glasses and received only 1 pair, although on their website all three pairs were associated with the same tracking number, so I could not find out where the other 2 were. After contacting the company, they said the remaining 2 pairs were backordered and would give me a 5% discount on my order, and I could continue to wait if I wanted to, or cancel the order. After waiting for another month (exactly 2 months after placing the original order), I decided to cancel my order and return the original pair of glasses.
They sent me a a return slip for the pair I received and cancelled the 2 remaining pairs. It has now been 1 month since the order was canceled, and I still have not received my refund. They said there was a "delay in their system" and will be contacting "a related department" to re-process the refund. This seems shady to me. It has again been 1 week since this last email, and I still have not received my refund for the returned pair or canceled pairs, totaling $480.85. I am unsure if I will ever receive my refund, and believe this company to a scam.
I plan to continually contact them until I receive my money, and will update this review if that does happen. I hope this review will deter any customers contemplating ordering from SmartBuyGlasses, as they deserve to know the truth. And, if my refund is received, I hope future customers see that even if a refund is received, it will take a very, VERY long time.
Please, DO NOT order from them. They are a shady, shady company.

I will be contacting my bank within the next 24 hours for fraud since this appears to be a SCAM... Buyers Beware!!!

I ordered a pair of Ray Ban model number RB3190 005/40 5818 sunglasses on 05/08/2013 for $134.95 (ORDER# US3711573233G) and didn't receive the 5% discount. I first contacted a gentleman by the name of [Name removed 1] who forwarded my email to [Name removed 2]. [Name removed 2] convinced me that the discount had been added and showed me an updated invoice on 5/9 reflecting the discount for a total of $128.20. However, I haven't received the discount to my account. Instead, I was charged the full $134.95 and an additional $4.05 for an "International POS Fee". I contacted them last Thurs. 5/30 to ask several questions including (1) "Where are my glasses since when I ordered them they appeared with the Fast Shipping Icon"? (2) "Why haven't I been credited the 5% discount to my card yet"? (3) "Why was I charged an additional $4.05 for an International POS Fee"? Amazingly enough it's now Tues. 6/4 and I haven't received a response back even though the confirmation receipt claims "Our Customer Support Team aims to respond to your query within 48 hours, Monday to Friday". I feel that I've been scammed (1) since I haven't received my glasses (last email update from them was 05/11/2013 stating “Item Confirmed”, (2) a refund for 5% coupon, (3) a credit for the $4.05 international POS fee, (4) a response from them in a timely manner. I will be contacting my bank within 24 hours of this post to report them for fraud since they had to use their bank to subtract the fees from mine UNLESS... I have an EXACT ship date when my glasses will arrive OR... a refund for BOTH $134.95 AND $4.05 to my account for a TOTAL of $139.00. A VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER… BUYERS BEWARE!

Polite and Efficient Service

Purchased a pair of Raybans RB2140 Wayfarer polarized sunglasses from Smartbuyglasses.

Smartbuyglasses offered me outstanding service from the placement of the order to delivery. Finding the right pair of sunglasses was easy on their site. They offer many brands and break the listings into various categories. Their customer service was helpful and polite. I was treated like a customer, not as a nuisance as many other retailers have the habit. It was nice to be treated with courtesy and efficiency for a change!

Delivery was fast and efficient. With in days of placing my order I had a call from the delivery company to set a delivery date. They also included a lens cleaning kit with my sunglasses. This was an easy and transparent transaction and I would not hesitate to purchase from Smartbuyglasses again!

Not great to be honest

I ordered sunglasses. Just my luck they were out of stock. Instead of the refund I opted to wait but nothing doing. never heard from smart glasses despite repeated emails asking how long it would take to get the glasses I ordered and paid for.

Recently ordered a separate pair of sunglasses and have been ordered to pay $30 in customs feed because the pair that were sent came from Hong Kong and the sender was trying to shirk customs fees.

I ordered a pair of frames (non-prescription) on April 16th expecting delivery within a couple of weeks. Notice was sent out that product was shipped 9 days after ordering but when checked, tracking details said returned to shipper - no documents. After several emails over a few days, product was supposed to be shipped again using a different courier company along with offer of a 5% discount. After several follow up emails, always taking min 24 hours response time, I was told after another 2 weeks that the frames would 'probably' be shipped the following week. At that point, I lost patience and requested a refund which I received around 1 week later after them offering me other 'fast shipping' frame options which I refused. Total time frame - ordered Apr 16th. Refund received May 27th. I have now ordered frames elsewhere and will receive them within 2 days of my order. If you are lucky enough to be ordering frames that they have in stock, you may do well but if not.....buyer beware.

Excellent products. Quicker customer service needed.

I bought a pair of sunglasses and by mistake instead of one, I bought two pairs. When I tried to return the second pair I had a few difficulties. It was all solved at the end, but it took about 2 months with emails back and forth. I had bought frames in other opportunites and had NO PROBLEM whatsoever. My feedback would be a "cancel my order" application within 2 hours of having purchased your order, that way you would not have so many problems with returning orders, or a last screenshot that has a "review your order before confirming" . At the moment once you purchase the order goes through and it makes it more difficult to return items.
Overall, I am content with the website and the products they offer. Just small things that could make it better.

DON'T USE THIS SITE EVER

From my prior post, I've now been waiting over a month for my order. A WEEK AGO, I received an email saying my frames had been discontinued. This would be the second time. At this point, I replied asking for a refund. Simultaneously, the order status changed to "waiting for tracking", which defined the order as already having been shipped. DAYS of emailing them later asking why it taken well over the 24 hours indicated to provide a tracking number, I get a response. It says that they've been waiting for me to confirm if I wanted to cancel to or not. Excuse me, "concel", as they type it. (not only does it take 48 hours every time to get a response, there are typos left and right. very professional.) So, I'm at a loss. The status said it had shipped, but I had an email saying it was discontinued, OH and that my prescription was hard to make or something because it's so high (which it isn't), and they were allegedly waiting for me to confirm that I wanted to cancel it. They never once contacted me about this. I was even checking my spam religiously. Obviously, if the order sent, there was no going back. I'd be jubilant if I finally got my order. Instead, they were waiting for me to email them so they could bide another 48 hours. Another thing I should point out: the website says customer service runs 7 days a week, but they actually only run Monday-Friday.

Almost all of my problems boil down to the 48 hour delay it takes to get a response to an email, with weekends not being included. This means, now that I've said "SHIP THE ORDER ALREADY" (which I honestly doubt they have), it will take them two more days to read my email and then ship the order. It's unacceptable. Especially, since I've been waiting over a month for these frames. And it's now going to take more waiting through the weekend to potentially receive my order. Of course, there is no other way to contact them.

They also like to use the excuse that they have a large volume of orders coming in because it's summer. MAYBE, if that's really the case, they should hire some more people so that there aren't just two people working customer service. They do manage to reply in exactly 48 hours every time though, so I think it's just a scam to get extra time to process orders.

In the latest email I received, they quoted themselves with some (definitely fake) emails they had sent, attempting to contact me, twice. Those never made it to me. They were not in my spam. They were never sent to me. This company is complete BULL SHIT. Avoid at all costs. Chose a more human company and avoid being treated like garbage.

STAY AWAY!!!

I placed an order for new prescription glasses on May 3rd, I receive a notice that my frames are 'backordered' on May 8th. After not hearing any status in a while I inquire about my order on May 22nd, they respond on May 24th that my frames have been 'discontinued'. They offer me to reselect for a different frame suggesting their "Fast Shipping' section which are items in-stock readily available. I select a new frame on May 26th that is listed as "fast shipping, same day dispatch", I just received a notice today (May 29th) stating that my new selection is 'backordered'!!!! This company is a joke, I've been waiting almost 4 weeks and no glasses yet. I requested an update with exact date I should expect my new glasses, if they do not respond accordingly I will be asking for a refund.

I ordered the glases 05/13/2013. 05/15/15 they took 305usd from credit card. Order US4051579251G status "Wait to be verified " couse my country (Ukraine) is have high risk. I send scan of my passport, bank certificate. But there are no more answers and letters. Maybe here someone answer me - where are my money?

1. Smart sais that shipping and billing address are different - LIE. Everybody can see the same addres looking my "order tracking"
2. Smart sais that didn't receive my letters - Lie. I used my working corporate not free email - wich I use to talk with my customers - that address bring me money. Over 30 email I send daily and only one don't receive - SmartbuyGlasses

no delivery so far

I ordered a pair of Maui Jim Makaha Sunglasses on May 9th. Since the very next day the item was filled with stock confirmed status. However it's a month since then and the status didn't change. I've sent them 2 emails asking for info about delivery date and their responses were a lot vague saying the item "should / may" be shipped by the middle or end of the same week. However this didn't happen, I sent them a last email asking for a predictive shipping / delivery date. If their responses will be still vague and full of hopes and promises from their delivery team, I will cancel the order and ask for full refund.

Decadence of a once wonderful website

Unfortunately they have the website full of so-called offers and supposed "large discount" banners but the truth is they unilaterally upgraded all the prices by at least 20% in the last month, in just one movement.

It is really difficult to understand why this attitude of a big price increase just one day to the next one.

Paying directly to avoid the Paypal currency conversion overcharges (the way Paypal takes a few dollars from the buyers) is really difficult too. Transactions are delayed "waiting to be verified" which is annoying and one looses time sending credit card documents that they declare useless, asking for ID documents that no one would send on an email.

A sad decadence of a once wonderful website which had the best prices online.
